Summary
SENIOR GRAPHIC DESIGNER
AMP is on the lookout for an inspired designer to join our fast-paced and energetic creative team. The Sr. Designer role will be responsible for the implementation of visual identity and execution across a number of projects. Spearheading AMP Agency’s integrated approach, the Design Team works to ensure the highest quality work in multiple digital and traditional media channels.
The ideal candidate should have an impressive portfolio showing an amazing eye for design and be adept at guiding and executing design strategies.
Core Responsibilities:
Create surprise. Seek unexpected solutions to creative problems.
Understand the client’s brand, campaigns, and business goals and create content that helps to meet those goals
Participate in brainstorms and ideate on your own to develop content concepts on a monthly/seasonal schedule
Execute others’ ideas with the same care and precision you do your own
Take feedback from client, strategy and creative leaders into account and translate that into new and effective solutions
Participate in client and internal creative review meetings, occasionally presenting the department’s work, explaining design rationale to non-designers, collecting and absorbing feedback and offering solutions in real time
Help other designers in the development of all skills relevant to their growth as professional designers
Keep current on advertising campaigns, design trends, and industry technology, sharing findings with the department to facilitate new ways of thinking, working, and problem solving
Requirements/Skills:
Expert level.
Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills
An understanding of and appreciation for all social channels and current activity trending on each
Experience overseeing the production of mechanical files for digital and traditional deliverables.
Proficiency with Mac OSX and Adobe Creative Suite applications (INDD, AI, PSD, PDF, XD)
Ability to work on multiple projects at once and to meet deadlines on a daily basis in a team-oriented environment
Working knowledge of digital communication channels
Interest or experience in the beauty and wellness category is a plus
Knowledgeable about digital file management organization and web-based production workflows
Release final files to vendors and client partners
Chicago-based preferred
3-5 years creative agency experience, including in-house marketing teams
Soft Skills:
Ability to work independently and be self-motivated
Infectious, positive can-do attitude in a fast-paced environment
Flexibility and understanding of agency and client demands
Creative curiosity

Job Duty
Creative Development
· Create and work closely supporting various marketing campaigns, and visually communicate marketing concepts
· Partner with a wide range of creative styles and brands, both client and agency focused
· Participate in project meetings with other creative team members, internal departments, and account teams to communicate rationale behind design executions
· Work in multiple disciplines to include art direction/design
· Express complex ideas in a simple, clever, and appealing way
Project Management
· Organize and manage projects from beginning to end, meet deadlines and expectations, and measure and improve productivity
· Complete projects in the studio and/or is part of a conceptual team assisting to bring concepts to realization
Client Support
· Meet departmental goals based on specific client objectives

Minimum Qualifications
The following are the minimum job-related qualifications which an individual needs in order to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the job
Education Level: (Required): Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
(Preferred): Bachelor's Degree Or equivalent experience
Field of Study/Area of Experience: Advertising, Graphic Design, Communications, Journalism or equivalent job-related experience in related field/industry
2-4 Years of experience in consumer products, media, or agency business
0-2 Years of experience in professional creative work

Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Work is performed primarily in an office environment. Typically, requires the abilty to sit for extended periods of time (66%+ each day), ability to hear telephone, ability to enter data on a computer and may require the ability to lift up to 10lbs.
