The Market Research Associate conducts research and analysis involving consumers, competitors, causal conditions, advertising, economic conditions, distribution and other factors that can influence the sales growth opportunities and effectiveness for the brands we support. In this role, you will work to design research methodology and design format for data gathering, such as surveys, opinion polls and/or questionnaires. The Market Research Associate is an entry-level position will work closely with experienced research managers to analyze these data to make specific recommendations based on findings, prepare and present reports and graphics that illustrate the results of your findings and forecast future trends and opportunities.

Responsibilities:

  • Conducts research and analysis involving competitors, pricing, sales and methods of marketing; existing and potential consumer preferences, economic conditions, advertising, distribution and other factors that may influence sales.

  • Monitor and conduct routine data management to ensure data integrity.

  • Organize and interpret large, multi-variable datasets.

  • Prioritizes tasks with a focus on strategic partners that deliver stronger ROI.

  • Develop presentations integrating visual components, meaningful headlines, flow, and follow the Company's Branding Guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degreeor equivalent job-relatedexperiencerequired;Degreein Math, Statistics, or Economic or related fields preferred

  • 1-2 years Market Research or Data Analytics experience in CPG, retail or supplier preferred

  • Intellectually curious, eager to problem solve, and a quick learner

  • Experience writing and researching for a business or professional audience

  • Demonstrated ability to work with large data sets; an appetite for numbers and analytics

  • Good communication – written and oral – skills and strong interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

Data Collection

  • Collects data on consumer preferences and buying habits

  • Conducts research and analysis involving competitors, pricing, sales and methods of marketing; existing and potential consumer preferences, economic conditions, advertising, distribution and other factors that may influence sales

  • Recommend, select, and acquires data effectively and efficiently to improve information and insights

  • Review data for inconsistencies and errors

  • Monitor and conduct routine data management to ensure data integrity

Data Analysis/Interpretation/Application

  • Quantify, analyze, and interpret data aligned to specific business needs

  • Organize and interpret large, multi-variable datasets

  • Examines and analyzes statistical data to forecast future marketing trends

  • Establishes research methodology and design format for data gathering, such as surveys, opinion polls and/or questionnaires

Project Management

  • Prioritizes tasks with focus on strategic partners that deliver stronger ROI

  • Organizes time and re-aligns work to meet deadlines

Presentation Development and Delivery

  • Develop presentations integrating visual components, meaningful headlines, flow, and follow the Company's Branding Guidelines

  • Assist the sales and marketing team as needed by participating in presentations and meetings to answer any questions regarding the data and can address follow-up needs

Minimum Qualifications

The following are the minimum job-related qualifications which an individual needs in order to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the job

Education Level: (Required): B.S. in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics or related discipline is preferred, however candidate with relevant experience who hold other degrees will be considered

Field of Study/Area of Experience:

1-2 years Market Research or Data Analytics experience in CPG, retail or supplier preferred

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

  • Intellectually curious, eager to problem solve, and a quick learner

  • Strong command of primary, secondary, and quantitative methodologies and procedures

  • Well-organized and strong attention to detail and accuracy

  • Experience writing and researching for a business or professional audience

  • Demonstrated ability to work with large data sets; appetite for numbers and analytics

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively as part of a team; a hunger for “winning together”

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize business requests

  • Creativity…. with a passion for building visually compelling presentations

  • Good communication – written and oral – skills and strong interpersonal skills

  • Strong work ethic and desire to succeed (often with minimal supervision)

  • Microsoft Office experience: Highly proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint

Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Work is performed primarily in an office environment. Typically requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time (66%+ each day), ability to hear the telephone, ability to enter data on a computer and may also require the ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
